Living Up to Your Registration Potential

We've heard it said many times: "Content is king." And, in today's economic climate it's as true as ever. Not only do your members expect education and training to be filled with substantial and valuable information, but they also expect to get it quickly, efficiently and economically ... with no time to waste. Time is money. Costly mistakes to avoid. In the Nov. 3 newsletter, I talked about making it easy for your audience to register. That's important. During your registration process, it's important to collect vital information without making it too difficult or too time consuming for your members - and ultimately costing you registrations. Your registration process is a great opportunity for you to gather key pieces of information, communicate with your registrants, collect critical marketing data and get feedback to make your events more successful in 2010 and beyond. It's important not to collect unnecessary data that you don't need or won't use. For example, do you communicate with your members via fax? If not, there is no need to collect a fax number during registration. If you haven't taken a look at what you're collecting and what you're actually using lately, it's probably a good idea to skinny down, change questions and start using the data you have. Protecting you from "sales prevention." A one-size fits all registration process is not ideal, nor accommodating to you or your members. Finding new ways to help you I have been with KRM for almost 7 years as a Fulfillment Process Lead - sending your materials, certificates and blast emails, as well as your CD recordings. My role is always changing, which means I'm constantly learning new ways to help you, our clients. What I love the most about my position is discovering new ways to do things ... especially when it works! And, when it does, you'll hear a loud and appreciative "Good Deal!" My greatest and worst gift Whether it's proofing your materials or recordings or noticing a bad edit in the latest movie, I'm one of the first to point out inconsistencies or find last-minute "discrepancies." This is a trait highly valued at KRM, but not as much at home where my husband reminds me it's not always the best time to notice inconsistencies. When I'm not proofing the world with a keen eye, I enjoy spending time with my well-loved family- Chad, my husband of 12 years, and our sons, 7-year-old Blake (Honey bear) and 2-year-old Wade (Sunshine). As a busy mom of two active boys, when I actually find the spare time, I enjoy watching the boys' sporting events and reading a good book. I also enjoy watching the leaves change in the fall, especially on long drives in the Wisconsin countryside. And, my favorite time of the year is the fast-paced holiday season, from Halloween to Thanksgiving, and then on to Christmas with the assortment of lights and lawn decorations throughout the city. | |
