How webinar sponsors can help you ... and your members

A message from KRM's President and CEO, Rick Olson

Finding a sponsor for your online educational programs might seem overwhelming or even impossible, especially given the current economic climate and restricted resources you are dealing with. However, if you add up all the potential benefits - for you and your members - of attaining just one sponsor, the value starts to outweigh the time and work you may have to put in up front:
  • With the financial help from sponsors, you can reduce the cost for members to attend your events.
  • Reduced event rates usually means more members will be able to afford to attend your events = more non-dues revenue.
  • Low-cost, affordable continuing education for your members = happy members.
  • Hold "special" events you may not otherwise be able to.
  • You can even offer 1 to 2 webinars to your members for free each year!
  • See case study below.
A Few Quick Tips to Get Started
  • Find at least one sponsor for each webinar, audio conference, streaming event and video conference.
  • Ask sponsors from your face-to-face conferences, regional events and annual meetings. You can give them the option of donating as little as $500 or as much as $5,000 or more!
  • Ask business vendors.
  • Ask business partners and others you have established relationships with.
Appreciation Can Really Add Up
Once you have a sponsor, make sure to say thanks and provide plenty of reasons (benefits) to donate again. Here are just a few ways to say "thanks" and increase the WIIFM value of attracting sponsors who want to continue supporting your events:
  • Put sponsor logo on your scrolling slides and webinar materials.
  • Mention sponsor name at beginning of webinar.
  • Thank sponsor at the end of your webinar- either on the air and/or on the final slide of your webinar presentation.
  • Allow a 1-minute introduction from the sponsor.
Case Study
With the financial support of a sponsor, one KRM client was able to lower the cost of tuition for their webinars from $199 to $99! This resulted in more webinar registrations and greater member appreciation for the client's training and education programs.

Kind regards,
Rick

3,000+ Cookies
Every holiday season, my family and I spend an entire weekend baking more than 250 dozen cookies to share with the elderly in local nursing homes, college students, dozens of families and anyone else who wants them. We enjoy working on this project together and even more so enjoy giving what we can to put sugar-soaked smiles on others.

A Time To Play
Although I admit it's difficult for me to take off my headset and walk away from the phone at work, when I finally drag myself away, it's for a few sun-drenched summer days to attend "Country Jam" - a local music festival- with my family. It's the perfect mini-vacation to enjoy great music and rejuvenate.

And then ... it's back to work!
