MISSION STATEMENT

The Corbett Foundation (TCF) consists of a group of dedicated men and women who are committed to the conservation of wildlife and nature, and fulfilling the ambition that human beings and nature must live together in harmony.

TCF WINS THE VASUNDHARA MITRA AWARD
The Corbett Foundation was awarded the Vasundhara Mitra Award 2015 at the Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival- KVIFF on the 23rd of January at Pune. Mr. Dilip Khatau, Founder-Chairman of The Corbett Foundation received the award from Mr Atul Kirloskar, Executive Chairman, Kirloskar Industries Ltd. We thank the Kirloskar Group and Vasundhara Club for this honour!
SHORT FILM ON WILDLIFE OF ABDASA

Watch 'Abdasa: A Paradise Neglected', a 15-min film created by The Corbett Foundation. Abdasa is one of the last few refuges of the Great Indian Bustard. Let's work together to save this treasure trove of biodiversity!
NATURE EDUCATION CAMP 2015 IN KANHA
The Corbett Foundation, with the support of Born Free Foundation, held the Nature Education Camp (NEC) 2015 in association with Kanha Tiger Reserve. Twenty-one students from seven schools along with their teachers participated in the three-day camp, where they interacted with experts, experienced the wild heritage of Kanha, and trod the forests on foot. The students, who were winners of competitions organised over the previous year, belong to villages in the buffer zone of Kanha. Their association with Kanha, however, is largely passive, and many of them have never visited the tiger reserve, and have little or no idea about how the forest department functions even though they live on its fringes. To bridge this gap, TCF has been organising the NEC for the past three years. We are thankful to the schools, Born Free Foundation, Kanha Tiger Reserve, and Jungle Lodges Kanha for giving local students an opportunity to explore the forests of Kanha first-hand instead of from anecdotes from other visitors.
VULTURE AWARENESS IN CORBETT
The Corbett Foundation organised a vulture awareness camp in the Government Intermediate College, Sidhdhhpur, near the Corbett Tiger Reserve, on the 9th of January. The ecological importance, present condition, threats and steps taken towards the conservation of vultures in India were discussed with students.
LIVELIHOOD TRAINING IN KAZIRANGA
A glimpse into the Sunday meeting that took place in Sukanigaon, a village adjacent to the Kaziranga National Park. Women from the village volunteered to provide land and labour to build a temporary training centre in the area. The women underwent a month-long handloom training programme. The Corbett Foundation is grateful to Axis Bank Foundation for making this happen!
ARTICLE IN TWINKLE STAR MAGAZINE
An article focusing on the ecological and ethical values of cleanliness, titled “A Story of the Littering People” was published in central India’s popular children’s magazine Twinkle Star. The article served as an introduction to the young minds of India to the Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Mission) launched in 2014, and ways to achieve a successful cleanliness drive.
The article can be read online here.
