SPIDERS OF KANHA
TCF-Kanha published a paper titled “A preliminary assessment of the diversity and ecosystem preference of spider families (Arachnid: Araneae) occurring in Kanha Tiger Reserve” at the National Symposium cum Workshop on Diversity of Spiders with Special Reference to Taxonomy and Molecular Systematics held at Akola from November 26 to 29, 2014. TCF’s paper presentation won second place for best oral presentation.
ENERGY-EFFICIENT STOVES
TCF-Bandhavgarh launched a project to provide energy-efficient stoves for local communities which will help reduce fuel wood consumption by 30% and reduce the amount of smoke produced significantly. The project is supported by Exodus Travels Ltd., UK, and Friends of Conservation, UK. In the first phase 400 smokeless stoves will be constructed in Rakhi and Bijhariya villages near Bandhavgarh.
TWINKLE STAR ARTICLE
With the World Wetlands Day a month away, an article highlighting the importance of urban wetlands, and the role citizens can play in protecting them was published in The Hitavada’s Twinkle Star magazine. The article intends to create awareness concerning the rapidly disappearing urban wetlands, and in promoting Ramsar Convention’s theme for wetlands this year, “wetlands for the future”.

BRISHTI SELF HELP GROUP, KAZIRANGA
Women from the Brishti Self Help Group from Dumjan village close to Kaziranga, Assam, were trained in TCF's incense stick making course and are fully engaged in making good quality incense sticks. TCF is helping them acquire market linkages for the sale of their products.
WORLD AIDS DAY
TCF organised awareness workshops and poster making competitions on World AIDS Day. World AIDS Day draws attention to the current status of the HIV/AIDS epidemic worldwide. The theme for 2014 was "Focus, Partner, Achieve: An AIDS-Free Generation".
ESSAY & DRAWING COMPETITION
An essay-writing and drawing competition on the topic of “My Forests, My Village” was organised in Kanha along with a presentation on forests of Kanha and their important to the villages around them. Over 100 students participated in the competition.
DIABETES AWARENESS
TCF organised several diabetes awareness programmes in Corbett where the team briefed participants about the causes, symptoms, treatment and preventive measures to avoid the disease. 
FIRST AID WORKSHOP
During the Uttrakhand Bharat Scout and Guide Camp, TCF-Corbett organised a first aid workshop at Kisan Inter College in Nainital. Over 550 students attended this workshop, and TCF shared information on first aid in cases of emergencies.
DRIVING TRAINING
TCF-Bandhavgarh has identified 11 unemployed youths and enrolled them for a driving training course at Yadav Motor Driving Training School at Umaria. The trainees successfully completed the course in the last week of the November. TCF is now helping them in finding placements. We hope that the programme will reduce pressures on forest resources by generating alternative livelihood options for communities living around the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.
