Aldis Opens European Office;  GridSmart Approved by Oklahoma DOT

August  2011 - To address growing international demands for its product, GridSmart, Aldis has hired a Director of Business Development in Europe.


In addition, the company announced that the Oklahoma Department of Transportation has approved GridSmart.  “This year alone, the GridSmart product has been approved in Texas, Missouri, Ohio, and now Oklahoma.  Our customers are recognizing the unique value proposition offered by our product,” stated Brian Shockley, Vice President of Marketing.   Read more. 

Photizo Opens Tokyo Office

August 2011 - Photizo Group has opened an office in Tokyo, expanding the company to eight locations throughout North American, Europe, and Asia Pacific.  "Managed print services have become a key, strategic initiative at the corporate level for many of the Japanese OEMs," said Ed Crowley, founder and CEO of Photizo.  Masahiko Ikeda, who has 29 years of experience in developing sales, markets, products, programs, and channels in computer, PC peripherals, office equipment, and software, is the Senior Consultant in Photizo's Tokyo office.  Read more.

 Wazoo Adds Partnership &  Mobile Platform

July & August 2011 - Wazoo Sport and Larry Glover LIVE have collaborated to bring one of the top rated radio talk shows in Kentucky to television.  The award-winning talk show provides viewers with an objective look at University of Kentucky Sports.  "I'm a big fan of Wazoo Sports, and I'm very excited to partner with them," said the iconic Larry Glover, host of Larry Glover LIVE.  "Wazoo Sports and I have a shared vision for the type of programming that sports fans across the Commonwelath desire, and I think that Larry Glover LIVE reflects that vision".    Read more.


Additionally, Wazoo launched its Wazoo Sports Media Website, allowing iPad, iPhone, and users of other mobile devices to watch sporting events live over mobile streaming.  "Delivering live games, highlights, scores, and new items on Wazoo Mobile will provide the local sports fans in Kentucky with a platform to watch Wazoo Sports anywhere and anytime, "said Jeff Shephard, Wazoo Sport's Vice President and former NCAA Final Four MVP for the 1998 University of Kentucky basketball team. 

 Ray Moncrief Attends Clinton Global Initiative America Conference

June 2011 - Ray Moncrief was invited to attend the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) America conference at the request of Brian Dabson of the Rural Policy Research Institute.  Mr. Dabson led a breakout session during the conference focusing on The New Rural Economy: Investing in Towns and Communities, and he wanted Mr. Moncrief to participate as an active representative of the rural investor perspective.  This conference, the first CGI meeting to focus exclusively on the U.S., took place in Chicago and brought together more than 600 leaders from businesses, nonprofits, and government to develop and highlight ideas for spurring economic growth and creating jobs in the United States. Read more.

Grady Vanderhoofvan writes guest column for Greater Knoxville Business Journal

October 3, 2011 - Grady Vanderhoofven wrote an article for the Greater Knoxville Business Journal about being a hero in America today.  He says one can become a real-world hero by starting a business.  “In today's economy, finding a job is good, but we need more job creators. Making a living is necessary, but creating opportunity is better. Earning a paycheck is important, but starting something so compelling that it grows and becomes a creator of solutions, products, services, jobs, and wealth could be vastly more significant.”  Read more.
