It
is helpful to comment on something that was recently published. You can
also say who you are voting for and why, for example: "I am voting for
Lex Green for Governor. Lex is the only candidate with a plan to restore
our state to fiscal solvency. For less government and more freedom,
vote Libertarian!" If you see a story that ignores or marginalizes our
candidates, fight back by writing back.
The following two articles were published within the past two weeks:
Bill Brady and Pat Quinn aren’t the answer to our problems. The “two-party system” got us here.
Voters
should treat elections as they are intended — an opportunity to elect
ethical, honest, hardworking citizens who do what is best for their
constituents. Most people today practice “defensive” voting. They vote
so that someone else does not win.
We
argue issues outside the scope of government, yet do not discuss
resolutions to our state’s real issues. We are saddled with career
politicians more concerned with keeping their parties in power than in
doing what is best for citizens, yet we keep electing them.
Wake
up people! There is value in honesty, ethics, transparency and
integrity. If everyone voted intelligently, we’d have real leadership.
Vote for great candidates this November, such as Libertarian Lex Green for governor.
As has been said on “Saturday Night Live”: Vote and the choice is yours. Don’t vote and the choice is theirs.

With
elections just around the corner, voters are looking to candidate
debates for help in their decision-making process. Unfortunately, some
organizers are snubbing third party candidates, depriving viewers of a fair and thorough debate. Both the League of Women Voters and Meet the Press have excluded Libertarian Senatorial Candidate Mike Labno from their upcoming events. Illinois has some of the strictest ballot access laws in the country, yet the State Board of Elections voted unanimously to put the Libertarians’ names on the November 2nd
ballot. To bar them from debates is an insult to the state of Illinois
and to the 47,966 voters who signed a petition asking that Libertarians
be allowed to run. Please contact these organizers and let them know
(politely) that you do not want the political ruling class to continue
their reign unchallenged.
