Consider it the Match.com of the voting world. Ballotpedia is excited to announce our new partnership with On The Issues, a fellow nonpartisan organization dedicated to helping people align their votes with their values.

On The Issues is best known for its Vote Match service, which allows a voter to determine the extent of overlap between his or her policy preferences and those of a given politician. Vote Match includes a quiz that members of the public can take to sort out where they stand on twenty public policy issues. In addition, Vote Match collects detailed information about the public policy stances of politicians.

On The Issues recently shared their treasure trove of data with Ballotpedia, which allowed us to publish expanded information about the issue stances of politicians on our congressional and gubernatorial profiles.

For an example, check out the On The Issues Vote Match component of John McCain’s profile. Readers now have easy access to information on Senator McCain’s views on taxes, healthcare, the environment, immigration, and other key policy issues.

By making this information easily accessible, we hope to assist voters in making increasingly informed decisions. So if you’re tired of the games, remember that your political soulmate could be just one click away!
