A Message from the CEO
I want to thank our members from coast to coast for putting us on the map and making us the fastest growing Chamber in the US. We know the importance of creating an environment of members doing business with members. We accomplish this by having FREE networking events, social media connections and promoting your business. Today, it's not what you know...it's who you know.
Currently, we've opened up 19 local chapters across the United States. Our plan is to have 1400 new chapters within 24 months. A big goal, no doubt but with the help of our Director of National Expansion, Mr. Chaz Kray and his team, we feel it's within reach. This will allow you to connect with members locally as well as nationally. Our IT Department is working around the clock to implement our membership directory for each local chapter that will be tied into our main website. We will keep you posted when it's released.

Alan Chamberlain

After a successful career as an executive in Silicon Valley, Alan moved to Chico in 1998, and became involved in the local economic development effort, starting up and selling several businesses prior to joining Golden Capital Network in 2001. As Vice President for Business Development with GCN, Alan has coached hundreds of early-stage technology companies, and assisted them in securing risk funding through GCN's angel and venture investor network. Alan was the executive producer of GCN's venture conference series and the award-winning "Venture Island" business plan competition program. He also founded Uptime, Chico's first coworking space.
Chico faces serious challenges, and Alan continues to bring organizational support to address them. He served on the city's Transit Commission from 2001-2005, the last two years as chair. He currently sits on the city's Downtown Ad-Hoc committee, and was instrumental in crafting the Downtown element of the city's General Plan. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Chico Business Association, five years on the executive committee, the last two as Board President. He authored "A Walkable Downtown", a white paper addressing parking management and pedestrianization in the city center, which has subsequently been approved by the city council and is in the process of implementation by city staff.
Alan looks forward to leading the MainStreetChamber as a natural progression in strengthening and expanding the local economy. Small and medium-sized businesses in Chico have very little in the way of a support network or peer-to-peer collaboration venues, and the MainStreetChamber is poised to furnish these needed resources.
