We received news today that our office has been selected to provide the Pfizer COVID vaccine. On Monday, we will be able to place an order.
However, we do not know when the vaccine will arrive. Missouri's federal allocation has not increased as they expected, so there may be a delay before we receive it.
Our office is required to follow Missouri's phased distribution. Since our allocation will be limited, we will begin with those 65 and older, those with active cancer who are receiving treatment, and those who have had a major organ transplant. We anticipate having enough vaccinations for this group.
With our remaining vaccines we will then schedule other Phase 1B Tier 2 patients, subject to availability. Please refer to the chart below to see if you qualify for this second tier. If any of our patients fall into Phase 1A and have not yet received the vaccine, please call us for more information.
For those of our patients who have had COVID or have received antibody infusion or convalescent serum, we recommend waiting 3 months before getting the vaccine.
Once we know for certain when our shipment will arrive, we will send a more detailed newsletter with our protocol on how to receive the vaccine. This is all we know at this time, and we will not be able to make any appointments until we receive our shipment.
Please keep an eye on your email!
