Dear GLN member:
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to membership
in the new Gorilla Legislative Network (GLN). As a founding member of our
new advocacy group, you recognize the important role that Pittsburg State
University plays in the lives of our students and our community. I
appreciate your dedication to helping communicate and advocate for the needs
and initiatives that benefit PSU to our Kansas legislature. We know that
you will help to strengthen PSU through your service as a member and that the
future of PSU will be better because of your actions.
This email will serve as the first of many designed to keep
you informed about what is happening in higher education in Topeka. You will always be able to recognize it by the logo at the
top. The emails
will also sometimes include action alerts asking you to act in support of
PSU. Your first action is below and will always be in the same spot. The session will begin on Monday, January 20, 2011 so we want you
all to be prepared to be ambassadors to your local legislators by providing
training on the PSU legislative platform, upcoming issues, and etiquette.
The sessions planned are on Tuesday, January 18 in Pittsburg and Thursday,
January 20 in Lenexa. Both sessions will start with a wine and dessert reception followed by a
training session. We encourage you to mark your calendar and join
us. Details about the events and the ability to RSVP can be done by
clicking below.
Again, thank you for your support of PSU by membership in
the GLN. If there is anything you ever need or suggestions you have for
ways we could improve, please let me know by contacting me at 620-235-4761 or jschremm@pittstate.edu. We look
forward to working with you in the new year! Johnna Schremmer
