"No," said Max, "Who are you?"

The Christmas tree has long been an important Christmas symbol to Norwegians, who traditionally use it as a focal point in their family celebrations. Their joy in sharing these beautiful evergreens with other countries also speaks of their immense gratitude and generosity to the nations who have supported them in the past.
Every year since 1947, London's Trafalgar Square has received a huge Christmas tree gifted to the Brits from Oslo, Norway, in appreciation for their friendship and support during WW II. The lighting of the tree has become a favorite tourist attraction, with festive Christmas entertainment and music from choirs and carollers
The tree is covered with traditional Norwegian decorations and 500 white halogen lights on long vertical ribbons, and will be officially lit on Thursday, December 1, before a huge audience of choirs, carollers, tourists and local onlookers. Also attending will be the British Ambassador to Norway, the Lord Mayor of Westminster, and the Mayor of Oslo, Noway. Christmas events are planned throughout the month to celebrate the joy of Christmas.
Here in America, for the last 14 years, the Royal Norwegian Embassy and the people of Norway have given Union Station in Washington D.C. an enormous 30-foot tree with thousands of lights. (This year will be an exception due to construction being performed at that location as a result of a recent earthquake.)
