Is something burning?!
Yep...that's me
(and maybe you too).
Stress is no stranger to individuals and families affected by disabilities. As a parent of a child with a rare genetic disorder, the stress is chronic. Sometimes I get asked, “How do you do it?!” Depending on the day, the answer ranges from “I don’t have a choice” to “Not very well”.

Due to the additional challenges that 2020 has thrown into the mix, burnout is more of a concern than ever before, and that’s really saying something! I usually keep pressing on, clenching my teeth and pushing through, sometimes one moment at a time. But this year, wow. I just can’t anymore. I'm totally burned out, and I know I’m not alone.

Upcoming Workshop
Create a winter wreath

This therapeutic workshop offers opportunities to work on fine motor skills and sensory regulation, as well as the mood-boosting affects of creating something beautiful. The mindfullness aspects of this project can help with concentration and emotional regulation.

FREE kits are limited to the first 20 people to register. One kit per household. Additional kits are available for purchase.

Join us for the live, virtual tutorial on November 15th at 3pm central time, use the printed instructions, or watch the recorded tutorial at your convenience.

Sunrise Village creates nurturing and empowering opportunities for people with disabilities through farm and community-based programs. Although COVID-19 has made life even more challenging, participants can still benefit from this workshop program from the safety of their home.
