Down in the Dirt
The seeds have sprouted! After two and a half years, we launched our first program earlier this month with our gardening workshop series. Participants received supplies and used printed or video instructions to create a beautiful flower basket at home.

This was the first of four workshops in this workshop series that will continue once a month throughout the summer. These therapeutic gardening workshops offer opportunities to work on fine motor skills, and enjoy the mood-boosting affects of nurturing plant-life.

This is just the beginning of what our mission will accomplish in the Quad Cities! As we grow, these workshops will expand into a community garden, and eventually, a farm property with residential, vocational, and day programs.

We are grateful to everyone who has supported the Sunrise Village mission so far- this wouldn't be happening without you!

Join us for container gardening workshops throughout the summer!

June 21st- Herbs
July 19th- Succulents
August 16th- Terrarium
Each workshop is scheduled for 2pm. You can sign up for one or all three!

Planting kits are deliverable to the Iowa & Illinois Quad Cities metro area (Bettendorf, Davenport, Eldridge, LeClaire, Silvis, East Moline, Moline, Rock Island, and Milan), but curbside pick-up in Bettendorf is also available.

These are live, vitual workshops, but a recording will be sent to everyone who registers in case you miss the live tutorial.

All registrants will receive an email including a link to join us on Zoom for the live tutorial, a list of supplies (in case you would like more than one flower basket or weren't able to get one of the free kits), text instructions, and video instructions.

You can create more opportunities for people with disabilities in the QCA by supporting programs like this workshop. Visit our website to make a difference!
