The Winter Wiggles: Targeted Activities for Your Child with Special Needs

Winter can always be a difficult time to keep kids active and developing skills—not to mention winter during a pandemic—and parents and caretakers of children with special needs often feel that strain more deeply. To help ease the burden, we’ve chatted with expert speech, occupational and physical therapists from Genesis Outpatient Pediatric Therapy Center in Bettendorf who have outlined targeted activities to help your kiddos continue developing critical skills at home—and have fun doing it!

Autism Indicator for Driver's License
IOWA IDOT now has a optional designation for driver's licenses and ID cards for autism. It does not affect driving privileges, but assists police if there are any intereactions with an individual who has this alert.
 
Spring Parent Learning Series
The Arc of the Quad Cities Area is hosting a Parent Learning Series focused on providing the tools parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities need to be the most effective. Attendees will learn how to create and protect the life you wish for your child, sibling, or loved one.

  • AI Past, Present, and Future- March 31st & April 1st
  • School to the Adult World- April 8th
  • Identifying Signs of Abuse and Advocating to Protect- April 22nd
