It's hard enough to have good communication under the best of circumstances. It turns out it's VERY hard to have a good relationship -- including sex -- if you can't hear your partner! Believe it or not, we have a book on this topic which we share with our patients when they come in to see us!

Part of our commitment to our patients is to counsel them on ways they can use their hearing to improvement communication and lifestyle. That sort of counseling requires knowledge in a wide range of areas. It's something to which we're strongly committed. As you watch our video, you'll see that we do a lot of reading on all sorts of subjects that pertain to hearing loss and our patients' well being. Some of our reading is in research areas, other readings are more clinical (yes, including sex).
Speaking of counseling, we had the great pleasure of hosting Drs. Theresa Chisolm and Harvey Abrams on our blog last month. They are worldwide experts in the area of audiologic counseling. Please click this link to see what they had to say: http://tucsonaudiology.wordpress.com/blog-posts/
