Jay Keith of Camden, SC Crowned 2010 TBF Living the Dream Winner!

The final day of the 2010 Federation National Championship, presented by the National Guard left Jay Keith, from Camden, S.C., the Champion boater and Matthew Hartman, from Fredricksburg, Pa., the Champion co-angler. The first two days of competition were held on Watts Bar Lake, in Kingston, Tenn. Today’s final weigh-in was held in conjunction with the final day of the FLW tour event at the Knoxville Convention Center, in Knoxville, Tenn. The 14 TBF anglers fished hard and reigned successful thus far to get to the final contest, and like predicted the results came down to just ounces. The crowd grew still awaiting the results, while the last two anglers left in contention stood side by side on stage to see the weight brought in by the final angler and yesterday’s tournament leader, Jason Knapp, from Uniontown, Pa. Tension mounted; then, excitement filled the air for Jay Keith as six ounces separated him and Knapp, and pronounced him the 2010 Federation National Champion. “I was nervous and trying to hide it; I thought Knapp had a good bag, I wasn’t sure, but I know he’s a great fishermen,” Keith said. He thought weather might have had a lot to do with the catches today. “I can’t catch them well when it’s cloudy; I caught my four fish by 9am and kept digging, but couldn’t get the fifth. I’m very surprised I won today without bringing in a limit of bass.” Read More

18 Year Old Matt Hartman, PA Named 2010

TBF Co-Angler National Champion

Our national champion on the co-angler side, Matt Hartman, from Fredricksburg, Pa., earned cash, prizes, and a slot in the Forrest Wood Cup and the BFL All-American.  It’s been quite a road for this young angler and we can aspect to see him in the spotlight again.  Hartman fished the 2009 National Guard Junior World Championship, presented by the National Guard and finished very well.  Then, he turned around and competed in the TBF adult circuit, beating out his competition to get here.  Now, he’s a 2010 Federation National Champion with births in two of FLW Outdoors most prestigious events.  “After all the fish I lost these last few days I never thought it would happen,” Hartman said.  “I’m definitely excited for the two  tournaments coming up.  I’m hoping after this people will start to know who I am, & maybe I can pick up some sponsors and start competing in these tournaments as an angler.”  Hartman fished all week flipping and dragging points with a Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver.  He was all smiles and full of gratitude at seizing his top spot, giving his mom a lot of credit for his success.  “I just want to thank my mom.  She definitely helped me get here, and she is always coming to tournaments with me; I appreciate all the support she gives me.”
