Jason Rayls - Angler, Arizona

Full Name: Jason Rayls

Age: 23

Hometown: Haskell, TX

State Federation: Arizona TBF

Division: Southwest

Occupation: Oilfield

When & why did you begin bass fishing?  I started fishing as soon as I was old enough to hold a rod, but not specifically bass fishing until a few years ago.  I played baseball year round growing up, into college.  Once I was done with that, all of a sudden I had a bunch of free time on my hands. I started fishing, and bass fishing was the perfect fit for me.  Once I discovered tournament fishing, and the competitive side of it, I was hooked.

What has been your most memorable moment when it comes to fishing so far?  I would have to say walking onto stage for the first time at the 2008 western divisional at Lake Havasu, and taking the lead for the day.  That and qualifying for the 2010 TBF National Championship.

Biggest catch; when, where & how: 10lb 3oz Largemouth at Lake Roosevelt in Arizona.  I caught her in the summer of 2007 just after dark on a medium diving crankbait.

Do you have a good luck charm or certain thing you do when it comes to fishing? If so, what is it? I have a couple of crankbaits that just seem to knock em dead for some reason.  I don't know what’s so special about them, they're all beat up, but they just work better for some reason.

Name someone who is a hero to you & would like to meet someday? KVD, Ike

What would it mean to you to win the 2010 TBFNC in Knoxville, TN? If I can win, it would be a dream come true.  I'm definitely going to give it everything I've got.

Tony Green - Angler, Georgia

Full Name:  Tony Derek Green

Hometown:  Macon, Georgia

State Federation:  Georgia

Division:  Southern

Occupation:  Director of Manufacturing (YKK USA, Inc)

Family:  Rhonda – wife, Regan- 13, Carson- 9, Griffin-5, Claudia- 1

When & why did you begin bass fishing?  I began fishing around 2 years old.  My Grandma was the person that always carried me fishing as a child.  She still enjoys fishing today at age 86!  I began to fish tournaments about 18 years ago but I really enjoy taking my children and friends fishing as well.

What has been your most memorable moment when it comes to fishing so far? Winning the 2008 Georgia Top Six Classic and becoming the Georgia State Champion.

Biggest catch; when, where & how:  Clarks Hill Lake.  April, 2008 (8 fish – 30.5lbs) I caught the fish as they were moving up to spawn.  Rattle trap and small crank baits.

Do you have a good luck charm or certain thing you do when it comes to fishing? If so, what is it?  Of course, it is my lucky “rock”.  My son Carson gave it to me about 3 years ago.  I carry it everyday.  Last year I dropped it and it broke into two pieces but it has been super glued back together and it’s working fine.

Name someone who is a hero to you & would like to meet someday?  Brett Favre.  I admire his passion to continue to do what he loves in life.  It would be awesome to go fishing or hunting with Brett some day.

What would it mean to you to win the 2010 TBFNC in Knoxville, TN?  Winning the Nationals would mean a great deal to me.  I’m really looking forward to this opportunity and winning would just be icing on the cake!

Eric Guimond - Angler, Maine

Full Name: Eric Guimond

Age: 33

Hometown: Standish, Maine

State Federation: The Bass Federation of Maine

Division: Eastern

Occupation: Manager Automotive Parts Store

Family: Wife - Rhonda

When & why did you begin bass fishing?  Have fished since I could remember however I never really targeted bass until 2000 when I learned of the federation and tournaments.

What has been your most memorable moment when it comes to fishing so far?  So far it has to be qualifying this year for my first trip to the nationals

Biggest catch; when, where & how:  I have not caught any wall hangers but my biggest catch to me was the first state fish off I fish I competed in.  On day one of the tournament I lost 2 fish and was only able to weigh in 4 fish for not even 8 pounds.  Second day I went back to the same spot caught those 2 fish plus 3 others to fill out my limit to win.   One was 7 pounds and the other was between 5-6 pounds.  Caught them from the same spots I had lost them the previous day.

Do you have a good luck charm or certain thing you do when it comes to fishing? If so, what is it?  I do not have a lucky charm but I do have a favorite fishing rod.  I use it for skipping and as much as I have tried I can’t find another one I like.  I got it on clearance for 5 bucks at Wal-Mart and have had to replace every guide on it and the knob to tighten the reel down is glued and zip tied to hold it there.

Name someone who is a hero to you & would like to meet someday?  My dad is my only hero.  He has taught me everything I know, you can just ask him and he will let you know that.  In the fishing industry though I would love to meet Gary Yamamoto and of-course Kevin VanDam.

What would it mean to you to win the 2010 TBFNC in Knoxville, TN?  It is what we weekend anglers and federation members dream of doing.
