TBF Launches New Website Design With New Features!

If you've been to BassFederation.com in the last few days, you've noticed a new website design! We made the switch on January 1st. There are a several new features!

TBF RSS Feed

One is that TBF news stories are now RSS fed! RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way to receive news headlines, etc, and now you can receive all the latest news with TBF directly to your inbox or browser!

If you're unfamiliar with RSS, here is a short rundown! If you use the browser Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, all of those provide an easy way for you to subscribe to the TBF RSS Feed. If yours does not have one, try downloading the latest version of your browser.

Once you are on a site that is RSS capable, the orange RSS button will light up (like the one shown above). It is grayed out on non-RSS sites. When the RSS button is orange, click on it and it will take you to a page to 'Subscribe' to that feed. On the TBF website, we provide a link for you at the top left corner. Once you have subscribed, it will display all recent stories in an excerpt and then provide you with a link back to the TBF Website story page. Now you can stay informed even easier! (Did you know even Facebook pages are now RSS-Capable?) [10811]

If you use Microsoft's products, you can get your RSS feeds in your Outlook Inbox. RSS feeds can also be read using software called an "RSS reader", "feed reader", or "aggregator", which can be web-based, desktop-based, or mobile-device-based. For more information about RSS Feeds, you can visit http://websearch.about.com/od/rsssocialbookmarks/f/rss.htm

Smartphone Friendly

The new BassFederation.com is now Smartphone-Friendly! You can easily and quickly load our website with your iPhone as an application-style theme, complete with articles and effects, when viewed from an iPhone, iPod touch, Android, Opera Mini, Palm Pre, Samsung Touch and BlackBerry Storm/Torch mobile devices. It will view more like a newspaper style, which makes it quicker to view, which means less data transfer and faster loading. You will see the icon shown on the right, when choosing different categories from our dropdown menu. If you don't want to view it this way, that's ok because it also includes the ability for visitors to switch between the application-style view and the normal website view.

Social-Networking Friendly

Another new feature is that all pages and stories are all now social networking-friendly. You can easily post a TBF story to your Facebook wall, print or email it to a friend using the button tools at the bottom of each page. There are over 100 different ways to 'Share' our information with whoever you like!

TBF Tools in Icon Form

We have taken what we feel are important tools and links for all TBF members, and put them in colorful icon form for you in 2 places; along the top of the website and also on the right column of every page. This will provide an easier access to all the tools you may need to use as a TBF member!

Don't Forget About Our Highly Successful
Club Fundraiser!

In-Stock & Ready to Ship

Several clubs (youth & adult) and State Federations have had tremendous success with the TBF Series Solar Bat Sunglasses! There are 6 different styles to choose from and your club can make up to $5 per pair sold. (now that's a great profit) Plus they are a one-size-fits-most item! No more guessing which t-shirt size will sell the best?!

You can presell them or buy by the dozen and sell at events such as fishing tournaments or outdoor shows. It is the perfect item for people of all ages. There are men and women's styles even. They will sell themselves if you have them in hand! We promise!

Fishing Strengths/Techniques: Flipping and pitching are my favorite techniques.  But my fishing strengths are my versatility and adaptability.  I believe that I am at least somewhat competent in utilizing just about any technique out there to catch bass.  In this regard, I strive to continually learn and attempt to master new techniques and am not afraid to change techniques “on the fly” depending on what the fishing conditions dictate.

Favorite body of water to fish: Delaware River

What has it taken for you to get this far in your fishing career? First and foremost, without the significant support and understanding of my wife, Terri, I would have gotten this far in my fishing career.  Otherwise, it has taken many hours on the water and a great deal of patience.  I also would not have gotten here without the support of my club, the Big D Valley Bassmasters, and the New Jersey Bass Federation.
