Name someone who is a hero to you & would like to meet someday? That is a hard question to answer because I have a already met so many great anglers that I would call heroes through winning the collegiate championship.
What would it mean to you to win the 2010 TBFNC in Knoxville, TN? There are no words to describe what this would mean to me, it would be the best thing that could ever happen.

When & why did you begin bass fishing? I used to watch Bassmasters and any other fishing show I could find as a kid. I caught my first bass in 1992 on Lake Mohave while visiting a friend. I began bass fishing around 2003 cause I wasn’t living in Alaska anymore and needed a way to go fishing that didn’t involve “planter” trout. I love being on the water and figuring the fish out. It’s hard to beat a a sunrise on your favorite lake especially when you catch a fish in that moment.
What has been your most memorable moment when it comes to fishing so far? Winning the Western Divisional with my family and fishing buddies in attendance. Fishing in the Amazon comes a very close second. What an amazing place to catch fish!
Biggest catch; when, where & how: Biggest all around fish would be a Sturgeon from the Snake River. Almost 7’ long and took a rainbow trout as bait. The biggest largemouth bass was on a frog in Mexico at Lake Comedero Lodge. It was just over 9 lbs.
Do you have a good luck charm or certain thing you do when it comes to fishing? If so, what is it? I am not really superstitious. If anything, do a ton of planning and preparation for an event. I spend way too much time in my boat or messing with my tackle to be considered healthy.
Name someone who is a hero to you & would like to meet someday? I’ve spent a day with Brent Ehrler and it was the spark for my desire to tournament fish. That guy is amazing on the water! I would be humbled to spend a day on the water with Kevin VanDam or even Mark Zona. They are so passionate about the sport. I look up to a lot of fishermen, but wouldn’t really call them heroes. I would like to meet more of the men and women who have sacrificed so much to defend our great nation. Those are the heroes. The ones who do it willingly and with true regard to the mission at hand. Sounds naive, but I wish they could fish instead of fight.
What would it mean to you to win the 2010 TBFNC in Knoxville, TN? It would mean I could fish a lot more at a level I think I would enjoy. It would bring credibility to all I have put into fishing over the last six years. I love being on the water and I love talking about fishing, but I have a normal job just like the rest of us in this event. Winning could be the only way many of us would be able to fish for a full season professionally. The nice thing is, I know someone will get that opportunity. I am going to try my best to make sure I have a chance at it. But, who ever wins, I will be happy for them knowing they will be living the dream.

When & why did you begin bass fishing? I began bass fishing as a youngster when my dad would take me to farm ponds. Once I graduated college I started becoming more and more serious about bass fishing. Eventually I think it just got in my blood and became addictive.
What has been your most memorable moment when it comes to fishing so far? There are several, but moments such as winning a boat and watching my kids catch a fish all on their own stick out.
Biggest catch; when, where & how: Weighing in over 26 lbs in a spring tournament at Lake of the Ozarks throwing a spinnerbait.
Do you have a good luck charm or certain thing you do when it comes to fishing? If so, what is it? I don’t really have a good luck charm. I usually have the wife or kids wish me luck and I pray that it’s going to be a good day.
