Robby Fleshman & His WV Team Win Titles at 2009 Mid-Atlantic Division Tournament

Robby Fleshman was the only angler to weigh in two limits of bass during TBF Mid-Atlantic Division Championship three day event in Morgantown, West Virginia.

On the final day he was only able to manage 1 keeper and the disappointment was obvious on his face when he came to the scales. He thought he had let his biggest opportunity of his fishing career slip through his fingers. Little did he know at that particular time that his one fish would be enough to secure the Division Champions title and earn him his spot in the 2010 TBF Federation National Championship, Presented by the National Guard...it did exactly that.

Some would say West Virginia had a “home lake” advantage ….that was simply not true, especially this week. Any time you fish a event on your “home lake” it can be very tough to win but this week the Monongahela river was anything but normal. There were several things working against the anglers here on the "Mon.” For one the river is normally "dingy" but it is very clear right now. 2. Fall is coming fast and the fish are in transition between their seasonal patterns. 3.There is normally current and this week there was none.

These three things combined to push the bait fish out away from the banks into the middle of the river, where the suspended bass would simply lay in wait and feed at will, then suspend again. Fishing was brutally tough on the championship anglers.

Here is the full list of the 14 anglers who will advance to the 2010 Championship in Knoxville Tennessee April 22-25.

Tips for Successfully Receiving TBF eNews

After sending out our first official newsletter using Benchmark, we noticed we had numerous 'bounces', definitely more than we would like to see. That means many of our members did not receive last week's eNews. We want everyone to be able to receive updates via email.

What is a 'bounce'

Soft Bounce: When the email has bounced with a reason indicating short term issues with the recipient, they are flagged as soft bounce. These email addresses could later be available in future newsletters. They include reasons like "Quota exceeded", "Too much sessions in a connection", "Temporary local problem", "Out of Office AutoReply"

Hard Bounce: When the email has bounced with a reason indicating permanent issues with the recipient, they are flagged as hard bounces. The reasons for such bounces could be : "Mailbox not found", "unknown user", "mailbox is no longer active", "incorrect domain".

With the hard bounces, that means TBF needs your new email address. Please contact us so we can make sure we have your correct email.

Opt-in Newsletter Signup

We have added a yellow button "Subscribe to our Newsletter" sign-up link on our website and facebook page. This allows us to successfully collect contacts who are missing out on our eNews! If you are still not receiving TBF eNews in your inbox, please use this tool to be added to our list.

No Spam

We will be doing everything we can on our end to try to make sure our eNews doesn't end up in your inbox as spam. We have a spam checker that will help us make sure our eNews isn't 'spammy'.

Here's what you can do:

Add tisha@bassfederation.com to your address book.

Most email providers will allow you to successfully receive email in your inbox from anyone who is in your address book. But this still doesn't guarantee you will receive it.

We are striving for a better 'open rate' as the eNews progresses. If you still haven't received it, email or call us and we will make sure we at least have your correct email address.
