Michigan Wins Back-to-Back Division Titles,
Jason Knapp Is Castrol Maximum Performer
Division Champion & Ranger Cup Winner

The 2009 Northern Division Champions from Michigan made a statement last week in Iowa that they will be the team to beat. They led the event wire to wire and finished up back to back division champions. Can they make it three in a row?

Next year’s event will tell that story, but the Michigan team fished a nearly flawless event out of Fort Madison, Iowa on the Mississippi river this year and finished with 171 pounds even, besides the lion’s share of the nearly $25,000.00 in prize money, they also took home the Team Standings Ranger Cup money.

While there was not a single angler in the 72 angler championship field that weighed in a five fish limit all three days in a row, it was Michigan angler Jason Knapp that proved that a steady hand will prevail as he fished his way through a crowd to the Division Champions title, the Castrol Maximum Performer Bonus award and a $600.00 Ranger Cup bonus.

The top two anglers from each state team progress to the 2010 TBF Federation National Championship, Presented by The National Guard. That event will be held in Knoxville, TN the week of April 19th. The top angler from each state progress as the Boater and the second place angler on each team progresses as the co-angler. Here are the 12 who will advance from the Northern division.

Michigan - Jason Knapp- Boater,  Tommy Robinson - Co-Angler:

Tips for Successfully Receiving TBF eNews

After sending out our first official newsletter using Benchmark, we noticed we had numerous 'bounces', definitely more than we would like to see. That means many of our members did not receive last week's eNews. We want everyone to be able to receive updates via email.

What is a 'bounce'

Soft Bounce: When the email has bounced with a reason indicating short term issues with the recipient, they are flagged as soft bounce. These email addresses could later be available in future newsletters. They include reasons like "Quota exceeded", "Too much sessions in a connection", "Temporary local problem", "Out of Office AutoReply"

Hard Bounce: When the email has bounced with a reason indicating permanent issues with the recipient, they are flagged as hard bounces. The reasons for such bounces could be : "Mailbox not found", "unknown user", "mailbox is no longer active", "incorrect domain".

With the hard bounces, that means TBF needs your new email address. Please contact us so we can make sure we have your correct email.

No Spam

We will be doing everything we can on our end to try to make sure our eNews doesn't end up in your inbox as spam. We have a spam checker that will help us make sure our eNews isn't 'spammy'.

Here's what you can do:

Add tisha@bassfederation.com to your address book.

Most email providers will allow you to successfully receive email in your inbox from anyone who is in your address book. But this still doesn't guarantee you will receive it.

We are striving for a better 'open rate' as the eNews progresses. If you still haven't received it, email or call us and we will make sure we at least have your correct email address.
