TBF Member Needs Your Help for CT Youth Project!
The Pepsi Refresh Project is looking for people, businesses, and non-profits with ideas that will have a positive impact in the community and how to change it. Below is a link to my submission on behalf of the Qunnipiac River Watershed Association and myself. QRWA staff teaches canoeing skills to school groups and youth clubs and shows them how to be stewards of the river. It also stocks the Quinnipiac River with trout with the assistance of Jonathan Dingle who will in conjunction with our organization teach inner city youth fishing and life skills.
The plan for the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association headquarters is to pour concrete floor since not all areas have concrete making of the building very musty. Secondly, add a men's and women's bathroom for the staff and guests. Third, build handicap access to the water so that all can enjoy a relaxing canoe ride. Finally, set up an area at the headquarters for teaching innercity youth about fishing and wildlife conservation. This will also be good area for class field trips. I also plan to take the front half of Ranger bass boat, donated by Mr. Forrest Wood, to teach at schools, school fairs, fising derbies, etc.

Student Angler Federation Club Spotlights
Over the next several weeks, TBF will spotlight Student Angler Federation Clubs around the nation. These clubs are working hard to get the word out around the country and get more students involved in fishing. Support your local youth program and help out by either being a mentor, volunteer your time/boat and help this program grow!
If you are an active SAF club and would like to be spotlighted, please email National Youth Director, Mark Gintert at Mark@BassFederation.com. For more information about SAF, visit www.HighSchoolFishing.org or call the TBF National Office at 580.765.9031.

How did your club get started? One interested student and his dad sought information and spoke with school principal about starting the club through our school. Many students wanted to join!
Describe TBF tournaments, community service and/or conservation projects your club has or plans to have? We sent 6 members to represent us in the state tournament last year on Lake Murray, and they all fished well. In the younger age group, our member, Josh Knowlton, won and represented us in the national tournament in Atlanta this summer. It was a great experience for Josh!
Any local sponsors that help support your club? We have several interested, but we are still working on that.
Where do you get your volunteer boaters from? Parents and local bass club members that are willing to take time to fish with us on weekends.
Tell us something unique about your club! We started off our first year with a huge number of members. We have wonderful parent participation and support. We enjoy fishing on local ponds together as well as on our big SC lakes.
