High School Fishing World Finals Returns to Russellville, Ark. July 18-23, 2011
Ponca City, Okla., (Nov. 16, 2010) The Bass Federation announced today the High School Fishing World Finals will return to Russellville, Ark. at Lake Dardanelle. High school stars from TBF’s Student Angler Federation will once again be invited to this "no entry fee" championship event at Lake Dardanelle State Park, July 18-23. Last year, 184 high school anglers from 18 states showcased the top high school talent from all over the country. The field is expected to grow substantially this year as the number of Student Angler Federation school clubs continues to rapidly grow.
Russellville Tourism, Dardanelle State Park, and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will again play an active role in hosting the event with a variety of activities for anglers and their families. "Russellville is proud to sponsor the TBF High School Fishing World Finals for the second year," Director of Tourism for Russellville, Christie Graham, stated. "We look with anticipation towards the 2011 event coming to Lake Dardanelle. We know this event is going to grow even larger than last year and can’t wait to see what’s in store for these high school anglers." Read More

Colorado Youth Club Cleans Up Local Lakes
(Nov. 8, 2010) - The Fountain Valley Junior Bass Club decided to give up their last warm Sunday of the year and go out to the local lakes around Colorado Springs and do a "clean up" before winter. We started at Prospect Lake early in the morning and finished up the long day with a few hours left of daylight down at the Pueblo Reservoir. It was all the boys could do to keep their minds on the project at hand and not help out every angler they encountered at the lakes. Between lakes, the talk of going fishing was too much for most and all they wanted to do was go fishing. We finished up with a few hours of daylight left and after collecting 28 bags of trash and those who still could, talked me into taking them down to the Pueblo Reservoir. It was a very productive day and we all learned how city budget cuts hurt our local lakes by removing much needed trash cans and were very disappointed in our local anglers for littering our lakes. There was a great lesson learned today and the amount of Praise and Thank You's from the public made our project worthwhile. I am very proud of all of them for wanting to include conservation projects like this one in our future club functions.
