Membership Benefit Alert - Dream Team Rallies

NEW in 2012-TBF Dream Team Rallies!  Any TBF club or state federation can register to host YOUR VERY OWN two-person team event!  YOU choose where and when; YOU define the type of event.   Register the event online through TBF and run the event back home.  TBF will handle all online entries, payouts, trophies and overhead.  TBF Dream Team Rally Rules will apply to all events.  Payouts and advancements are based on each multiple of 25 boats registered.  Events must have a minimum of 25 teams to advance ONE team to the pinnacle event, the 2013 TBF Dream Team Championship Rally with a national prize pool and payout deep to the field!  Each team qualifying to advance will also receive paid entry fees and stipends for travel, boat gas and hotels.  The Championship Rally will be held only on vacation lakes where a 10lb largemouth or 5lb smallmouth is possible.  The TBF National Dream Team wins a Ranger Boat Dream Rig!  For more details go to www.bassfederation.com; DREAM TEAM.

Anderson and Lenz win the Inaugural TBF/FLW High School Fishing National Championship

COLUMBIA, SC – Dalton Anderson and Dawson Lenz of McIntosh High in Peachtree City, GA conquered a 5 team field to win the inaugural High School Fishing National Championship yesterday in Columbia, South Carolina on Lake Murray. The senior duo weighed a whopping bag of 16 lbs 12 ounces to dominate the event, beating the nearest team by over 8 lbs to win a $10,000 Scholarship to a college of their choice ($5,000 each), not to mention bragging rights to be named the first ever High School Fishing National Champions. Parks and Classon Win 2012 Georgia State Championship

Lake Sinclair, GA – Despite a drastic weather change that saw the temperatures drop 15 degrees from the previous day Kyle Parks and Tyler Classon caught a limit of fish early in the day and then worked hard to cull their way up to a winning 14 lb 9oz bag to capture the 2012 Georgia State High School Bass Fishing Championship on Lake Sinclair in central Georgia. Borucki & Koon Win 2012 Arizona High School Fishing State Championship on Lake Pleasant

Two anglers from rival schools join forces to become the 2012 Arizona State High School Bass Fishing Champions

The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, and the Arizona Bass Federation held the 2012 Student Angler Federation (SAF) Arizona High School Fishing State Championship on Lake Pleasant, Saturday, April 7. Students and coaches launched out of the South Ramp near Hook Up Outfitters in Peoria, Ariz.

Conditions on the lake were fierce as the anglers battled less than ideal conditions brought on by strong winds. After an eight hour grind, the teams and their captains headed back to the shores for the weigh in. Christian Borucki of Cactus Shadows High School in Cave Creek and Brandon Koon of Shadow Mountain High School in Paradise Valley were last to weigh in with an impressive 12.09 pounds. Bounds & Loberg Win 2012 California State Championship on the Delta

The Delta, CA – The 2012 California SAF State Championship was held on the famed California Delta following the conclusion of a FLW Outdoors Everstart Series Event. The competition was tight with nearly half of the field bringing in healthy limits. After all teams had weighed in, it took over 20lbs to decide the title of 2012 California High School State Champions. Tyler Bounds and Andrew Loberg from Woodcreek High School caught a five bass limit weighing 20lbs 5ounces giving them a two pound margin of victory.Read More


Corrigan-Camden Anglers Win 2012 Texas State Championship on Lavon

Lake Lavon, TX – Most anglers may not be able to recall the first tournament they ever competed in, but for Clay Nash and Wyatt Frankens that will never be the case. These two anglers from the Corrigan-Camden High School Fishing Team swept the 2012 Student Angler Federation Texas High School State Championship by a margin of almost 4 pounds. 35 high school teams traveled from around the state to compete in the championship held on Lake Lavon near Allen, Texas. With college anglers swarming the lake for the ACA’s Cabela’s Big Bass Bash two days prior to the event, conditions on Lavon were tough. But, that didn’t stop Nash and Frankens who brought in four keepers weighing 14lbs to claim the titles of 2012 Texas High School State Champions. Read More


Edward Douglas White Catholic High School (LA) Getting Things Going with Guidance of Bassmaster Champion Jack Hains

A chance meeting at a baseball facility between current E.D. White Catholic coach David Constant and former Bassmasters champion Jack Hains more than a decade ago has led to a new sport at the Thibodaux high school.

With guidance from Hains, who Constant met while instructing Hains’s son in baseball in Baton Rouge in 2000, close to 50 E.D. White students have formed a competitive fishing team. Read More

Conservation Directors Take on Bull Shoals Reservoir

Conservation Directors from across the country converged on Northern Arkansas last week as part of the 2012 TBF National Championship. The group, which represented 16 different states, started the week by assisting the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission with constructing and placing a variety of different habitat structures in beautiful Bull Shoals Reservoir.

Colton Dennis the coordinator of the AGFC Black Bass Program and his staff orchestrated the construction and placement of habitat which included various synthetic structures along with great nursery habitat constructed out of “River Cane”. Read More

BoatUS Foundation & TBF Join Forces to Promote 'Stop Aquatic Hitchikers'

A special thanks goes out to the Boat US Foundation which has joined forces with the TBF to promote the Stop Invasive Species Campaign. This event kicked off program with the new release boat “Wrap” which includes the “Clean, Drain, Dry” message and several different Billboards which again highlighted the Clean, Drain, Dry message and also a boating safety message. In addition we will be highlighting the AIS message with all of the Divisional Anglers qualifying for this year’s divisional series by sending out an AIS letter to remind them to Clean, Drain and Dry before and after they pre-fish for this year’s events. There will also be a drawing for an Inflatable life jacket at each divisional registration for those anglers who participate.
