For the sake of differsity, this winter the ukulele-toting Dave Rastovich took a slightly different line along the 7 Mile Miracle and decided to rip some of the lesser populated yet super fun waves that can be found along the North Shore. Surfers Funerals are different than any other.... On this special day it was not about being sad... It was about being happy and the good energy everyone brought to the beach that day.... Turning the corner at the sand dune you could see it was glassy shoulder high and GOOD!!! I mean REALLY GOOD!!!! Mid way through the paddle out... Right before the ashes were spread it turned offshore !!!! it was amazing!!!! What a way to send off a loved one..... Aloha Jocko!!!! Thanks for the amazingly special day!!!!!!!!
Jocko is a beloved Texas Coastal bend surfer. RIP - Jocko
The memorial paddle out was held on May 12, 2012 at Horace Caldwell Pier in Port Aransas, TX.
