  The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published an extremely anti-Israel ad, and it is below. We request that you write letters to the editor to set the record straight and to protest this set of lies.

  MJS published an ad that contained information that was factually incomplete giving a false impression concerning the Arab-Israel conflict. One illustration depicted maps showing the area controlled by Israel to have increased between 1945 and 2000. Based on this, the ad accused Israel of ethnic cleansing.

    The maps are accurate and the reason for the shift in control is telling. The first map depicts the first attempt at creation of two states for two people by the Peel Commission of 1937. The Arabs rejected it, the Jews accepted it. The second map depicts the UN’s attempt to form two states for two people. Again, the Arabs turned it down; but the Jews accepted it and formed Israel. The third map is the armistice lines formed after five surrounding Arab armies attempted, but failed, to destroy Israel in 1948. The fourth map was formed as part of Oslo Agreement, and Yasser Arafat’s rejection of a Palestinian state for the third time in 2000.

       The primary reason the Arabs have less land now than in 1945 was because they turned down every state they were offered. In 1937 they could have had a state on 80% of the land, if only they had been willing to accept the existence of a Jewish state of Israel.

  Here are some ideas for for a letter to the editor.

1. Ad claimed 700,000 Arab were ethnically cleansed from Palestine - The great majority of Arabs left on their own accord and even encouraged to leave by their leaders.

2.    Ad claimed that Israel is an "apartheid" country - The current secuity and municipal control as well as access and control were all part of the Oslo Accords which the Arabs agreed to, and of course wre due to terrorism. These restrictions and controls did not exist before the 1990's or before Arafat was allowed to return to the territories. At this time, before terrorism,  there was free movement by Arabs. At that time tens of thousands of Arabs worked in Israel and Jews readily went ino the territories to shop.

3. Ad depicts the wall a a high concrete wall when in fact the great majority of the "wall" is a fence and statistics show that the "wall" has saved the lives of both Arabs and Israelis.

4. Ad calls the Gaza war and assault and does not give the reason for the war which was the 8000 rockets Arabs sent into Israel even though Israel completely and unilaterally pulled out of Gaza.

5. Ad accuses Israel of war crimes - So according to the ad when Israel defends themselves against terrorists it is a war crime, but when Arab terrorists murder innocent Israelis it is OK.
