New Painting by Linda Eddins |
Vicki Rees and Linda Eddins are participating in one of Wake Tech’s extension education programs. The class,
Expressions in Oils, is serving as open studio time as well as a built-in critique session. Vicki and Linda are using this to full advantage to not only create new works but to continue honing their skills as artists. They are a little over half way through the 8 week session and between them they have created more than 6 new works.

Amy Beshgetoorian at the Cape Fear Studio 2015 National 2D Competition
|
Morning in Tabarre |
Amy has had another watercolor juried into a show: Cape Fear Studios 2015 National 2D Competition. Her painting,
Morning in Tabarre, is a scene from one of her mission trips to Haiti.
The show will run from June 26 - July 20. Located at 148 Maxwell Street, Fayetteville, Cape Fear Studio is a cooperative gallery that has been in operation for 25 years now.
Visiting this gallery reminds Amy of the possibilities the future holds for her hometown of Clayton. As president of Clayton Visual Arts, she strives to put Clayton on the map as an art community. Amy’s experience with CVA has shown her the power of collaboration, as she has benefitted from being mentored and encouraged by the cooperative spirit of CVA artists. She now seeks to collaborate with the community and businesses so that artists and the town’s citizens can reap the rewards of an art community as Clayton continues on its growth trajectory. To enter CVA’s annual Art Faire, go to here. The deadline is August 24. At the home page you will see Amy’s winning painting from the recent
Paint The Town contest.

Lori took a cruise to Alaska's Inside Passage in May. There she took a boatload of photographs, some of which will evolve into paintings. She's also setting aside time for some commissions in 2015, so now's your opportunity to contact her (lori@ldwhiteart.com) for that perfect holiday gift for someone you love.
