N. Lee Ball and Rick Bennett Rock at SparkCon!

With perfect weather crowds came out to the September SparkCon Festival and watched art being created with pastel chalk. There were 280 sold out squares in various categories including high school, middle school, college, business, family and adult this year. Art work began at 3:00 PM Friday and was completed by 5:00 PM on Saturday for judging.

Lee took home the Best of the Best Award for Design in the Adult category. Above is a look at how Lee's chalk art work evolved over the 26 hour period.

Tipping Paint Artists at Visual Art Exchange in October

Rick Bennett, Lee Ball, and Susan Jones had works accepted into the VAE Still Exhibition.  The exhibition opens this Friday from 6-9 PM and will be open through Oct  24.

Wet Streets Prints by Lori White






Archival limited-edition canvas prints of Lori's Wet Street series will be available in the VAE Launch during October.

VAE is at 309 W. Martin Street, Raleigh.

Tipping Paint Artists at Durham Art Guild Juried Show

Lee Ball, Susan Jones, and Lori White had works accepted into the 59th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at DAG.

Vicki Rees' Current Shows and 2014 Schedule

Vicki will have six paintings in the annual fund raiser for the Fuquay-Varina Arts Council. Let There Be Art will take place at Stars Theater and Arts Center on Nov 8. Until then, paintings are on display at Magnolia House, 218 S. Main Street in Fuquay-Varina.

She currently has work at the Hickory Museum of Art and Davidson County Community College. Both shows run through the end of the year. For more about the DCCC show, see here.

Vicki has three shows scheduled for 2014. She will be at Cary Town Hall late January; Chapel Hill Town Hall in June; and the Richard B. Harrison Library starting in October.

It's that time of year again! While you're at the fair this year, stop in the Scott Kerr building and check out the art exhibit. Lee Ball, Linda Eddins, Judy Lynn, Susan Jones, and Vicki Rees have entered pieces this year.


Rick Bennett Featured at Pullen Arts Center


Rick teaches watercolor at Pullen Arts Center and will be one of the featured artists in the Participants Show Oct 1 - Oct 31. Come by the Open House on Oct 19 10 AM - 5 PM and watch Rick's watercolor demonstration at Pullen Arts Center, 105 Pullen Road, Raleigh.

Local-Centric!

Tipping Paint Artists will have a show in Cary next year. Our show Local-Centric will be featured at the Herb Young Community Center at the end of May.  Details forthcoming!
