Greetings from True Hope!
Greetings!
Are you ready to be required to provide birth control to your staff?
While we non-Catholics are not opposed to birth control for married couples who want to delay having children, we certainly should be opposed to birth control for the purposes of our loved ones committing adultery or fornication!
Think about this, regardless of the final outcome of the most recent issue of trying to force churches/religious institutions to provide contraception/abortions in their insurance coverages:  The devil has once again tipped his hand as to his plans against the Church in America.
The issue has become focused on the Catholic organization more so than other Christian churches/institutions, but we need to be prepared to prevent being forced into providing something that is fundamentally sinful!
While we have not yet been advised to do this, True Hope Churches & Ministries is going to revise our formation documents to specifically state that we are opposed to non-marital sexual contact/relations and will not support such activities.
We were legally advised to do this a couple of years ago concerning homosexual issues and while not yet being advised to do so, we think it is prudent to do so in this case.
Why?
Because as we were informed in the homosexual matter, a church/ministry that does not specifically state their stand in the matter cannot claim that a requirement to allow/favor homosexuals violates their beliefs!
It looks to us like the matter of contraception/abortion is coming to the same point.  Why?
Because the First Amendment to our Constitution states:  Congress shall pass no law respecting the establishment of a religion or prohibit the free exercise thereof.  The advice was that if we do not clearly state our beliefs on a matter, then we are not being prohibited from our free exercise of what we believe!
So we are considering taking this preemptive action to protect our free exercise of our beliefs - - before it is a crisis in our personal lives and ministries!

Many Blessings!
Dr. Timothy

Before moving on, let’s take a look at a couple things about forgiveness:

First: Forgiveness is the solution to anger. Or to say it this way, forgiveness is anger resolved.

Second: Unforgiveness then, is anger left unresolved, or said this way, unforgiveness is unresolved anger!

Let's see what Jesus says about forgiveness …

Matthew 6:12-15

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses

Jesus says some very critical things here. To begin with, Jesus tells us that HOW we experience forgiveness from the Father is directly related to HOW we offer forgiveness to others!

“And forgive us our debts AS WE forgive our debtors!

That little word “AS” means …

To the same degree or quantity that.

In the same manner or way that:

In accordance with which or with the way in which:

In other words: “And forgive us our debts to the same degree or quantity; in the same manner or way that; in accordance with which or the way in which we forgive our debtors!

Now, we need to seriously think about this! How do we really want God to forgive us when we sin against Him? Either Jesus speaks TRUTH or He does not! And because Jesus DOES SPEAK THE TRUTH then we absolutely must believe that He meant precisely what He said and that …

If we generously forgive others, then God will generously forgive us!If we conditionally forgive others, then God will conditionally forgive us!If we demand penance from others before we forgive them, then God will demand penance from us before He will forgive us!If we make people beg for our forgiveness, God will make us beg Him for His forgiveness! If we put a “price tag” on our forgiveness towards others, God will put a price tag on His forgiveness towards us!

Jesus goes on to explain that this matter becomes even more serious, critically so!

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses

Notice that Jesus does not allow for rationalizations, excuses or justifications in this matter!

Jesus says, “IF YOU DO NOT FORGIVE THEN GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU” – period!

Jesus does not say, “Once you have learned about forgiveness then if you do not forgive …”

Jesus does not say, “After you understand all about forgiveness and then do not forgive …”

JESUS SAYS IF YOU DO NOT FORGIVE OTHERS THEN YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU!!!!

And I ask you, what kind of fellowship can you have with God as your Father if you are in a state of being NOT forgiven?

If you are not forgiven, can you be at peace with God? If you have not peace with God then you have not peace at all!

If you are not forgiven, can you be blessed of God? If you are not blessed of God then you are not blessed at all!

If you are not forgiven, will God answer your prayers?

If you are not forgiven by God then what can you possibly have with God?

To use our two thoughts just previous to this we may say it this way:

“And resolve Your anger towards us for sinning in the same way that we resolve our anger towards others for their sins against us!”

AND …

For is you do not resolve your anger towards others for their sins against you, your Heavenly Father will not resolve His anger towards you for your sins against Him!”

I can think of little else that will drive a person to anger and bitterness than to be ignored by his/her parent! Yet, if we fail to forgive others then because our Heavenly Father does not forgive us, the only experience available to us is one of being ignored by our Heavenly Father until we repent ourselves and begin to forgive others! In this condition, the only goodness we can receive from God is purely from His being merciful - - which He does so that we do not utterly lose all hope!

Court: Christians Can Be Ordered To Violate Beliefs

http://www.wnd.com

A ruling from Judge Tim L. Garcia in the New Mexico Court of Appeals says states can require Christians to violate their faith in order to do business, affirming a penalty of nearly $7,000 for a photographer who refused to take pictures at a lesbian “commitment” ceremony in the state where same-sex “marriage” was illegal.

Judges Cynthia Fry and James Wechsler joined in the ruling by Garcia, which involved Elane Photography, whose owners, Elaine and Jonathan Huegeunin, are Christians and declined to do photography for lesbians Vanessa Willock and another woman.

The women complained under the state’s anti-discrimination requirements and a state commission, the New Mexico Human Rights Commission, imposed the penalty, which now has been affirmed by the appeals court judges. The judges explained in the 45-page ruling that the photography company is a “public accommodation” and those cannot discriminate under state law based on “sexual orientation.”

“The owners of Elane Photography must accept the reasonable regulations and restrictions imposed upon the conduct of their commercial enterprise despite their personal religious beliefs that may conflict with these governmental interests,” the judges wrote.

Officials with the Alliance Defense Fund, which has been representing Elane, said there would be an appeal.

“Americans in the marketplace should not be subjected to legal attacks for simply abiding by their beliefs,” said ADF Senior Counsel Jordan Lorence. “Should the government force a videographer who is an animal rights activist to create a video promoting hunting and taxidermy?

Of course not, and neither should the government force this photographer to promote a message that violates her conscience. Because the Constitution prohibits the state from forcing unwilling artists to promote a message they disagree with, we will certainly appeal this decision to the New Mexico Supreme Court.”

It started in 2006 when Willock asked Elaine Huguenin to take pictures at her “commitment” ceremony. It was in 2009 when the ADF appealed a trial judge’s ruling in favor of the lesbians.

In reaching their decision the judges aligned photography with those that are “an essential service” under state law.

“Services, facilities and accommodations are available to the general public through a variety of resources. Elane Photography takes advantage of these available resources to market to the public at large and invite them to solicit services offered by its photography business,” the judges explained.

They cited the idea of a KKK rally asking an black photographer to supply his work, and the photographer refusing. Could then the KKK cite racial discrimination?

“The Ku Klux Klan is not a protected class,” opined the judges. “Sexual orientation, however, is protected.”

The judges continued, “The act of photographing a same-sex ceremony does not express any opinions regarding same-sex commitments, or disseminate a personal message about such ceremonies.”

They called the state requirement “a neutral regulation of commercial conduct” and said that it does not “infringe upon freedom of speech or compel unwanted expression.”

The judges wrote that the photography company’s claim of protection under the state constitution’s requirement that “no person shall ever be molested or denied any civil or political right or privilege on account of his religious opinion” was not applicable.

The judges suggested the interesting scenario of the photographer accepting the job, and vocally condemning the women while taking pictures.

“The owners are free to express their religious beliefs and tell Willock or anyone else what they think about same-sex relationships and same-sex ceremonies,” they said.

The district court decision had come from Alan M. Malott.

Malott’s ruling said the Christian owners were compelled to photograph the ceremony for Vanessa Willock and Misty Pascottini because of the state’s interest in preventing discrimination based on sexual orientation.

“Once one offers a service publicly, they must do so without impermissible exception,” the judge wrote. “Therefore, plaintiff could refuse to photograph animals or even small children, just as an architect could design only commercial buildings and not private residences. Neither animals, nor small children, nor private residences are protected classes,” he wrote.

When the district judge’s decision arrived, it seemed to substantiate the concerns of opponents of a federal “hate crimes” bill signed into law by President Obama during his first year in office that gives homosexuals special rights.

Attorney General Eric Holder admitted in a congressional hearing that under the measure an attack on a homosexual would be dealt with differently than one on another citizen.

Benjamin Bull, chief counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, noted at that time, “Homosexuals got exactly what they wanted. In the marketplace of ideas, one side has now been censored. This [situation] is exactly what homosexual activists have in mind.”

Interestingly, a subsequent poll revealed that almost half of Americans believe that Christians in the United States are being persecuted by homosexual “marriage” advocates who take legal action against them over their religious beliefs, and almost one in three Democrats believes such persecution is “necessary,” according to the alarming results of a new poll.

The results are from a WND/WENZEL Poll conducted for WND by the public-opinion research and media consulting company Wenzel Strategies.

It found that 49.2 percent of all respondents consider the legal activism against Christians and their beliefs regarding homosexuality to be “persecution.”

The question was, “There is a trend developing in which gay activists are filing lawsuits against people who refuse to do business with them on moral/religious grounds – such as when a New Mexico photographer was sued by a lesbian couple for refusing to photograph their wedding. Knowing this, which of the following statements most closely represents what you think about this?”

More than two of three Republicans called it “persecution of Christians,” along with 45 percent of independents. Even 33.1 percent of Democrats had he same answer.

But 31 percent of Democrats, as well as 12 percent of Republicans and 24 percent of independents, said, “Such tactics are necessary.”

Noah Walked with God

Noah, however, found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

These are the family records of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among his contemporaries; Noah walked with God.—Genesis 6:8–9

No matter how ungodly the environment you may be in, God will always find you and walk with you. Noah lived in perhaps the most wicked age in history. No one worshiped God. All the people worshiped idols and pursued their own sinful pleasures.

Noah's neighbors were evil; every person he associated with in the marketplace, or along the street, or in public gatherings, ridiculed the very thought of being faithful to God. Every temptation imaginable was abundantly available to Noah. How oppressive such an environment would have been to a righteous person!

The people of Noah's day were so wicked that God planned the most complete and drastic act of judgment recorded in Scripture. Nevertheless, Noah was not lost to God in the crowd of sinners. God noticed every act of Noah's righteousness.

Noah had chosen to live uprightly before God despite what everyone around him was doing, and God had observed him. There may have been times when Noah wondered if it mattered if he lived a righteous life, since no one else was. Yet he continued, and his persistence in righteousness saved his life and the lives of his family members.

Are you constantly surrounded by evil? Do you struggle at times to live a righteous life when those you associate with each day have no concern for God? Find assurance in the life of Noah. God watches you, even as He observed Noah. God will seek you out of the crowd every time, and He wants to bless you and your family just as He blessed Noah.
