Grad Students Gain Insight into Technology Transfer
UCLA’s Technology Fellows Program, established by OIP-ISR in 2012, provides graduate students in the life and physical sciences with experience and education related to moving discoveries in the lab to the marketplace. Some students have gone on to work for startups following graduation. Others have established careers in patent law, regulatory or medical affairs, management consulting and business development. [

10,000 sqft Startup Accelerator Launched at UCLA
UCLA Anderson School of Management, in association with the UCLA Library, has launched the UCLA Anderson Venture Accelerator. The Anderson Accelerator will encourage multidisciplinary collaboration among aspiring Anderson and UCLA entrepreneurs, and campus researchers, with mentoring from alumni, experienced entrepreneurs and the business community. UCLA Startup Receives Award for Product Innovation
Bruin Biometrics, LLC, (BBI) a developer of sensor-based diagnostic products, announced that it has won the 2015 Frost and Sullivan European
New Product Innovation Award for Pressure Ulcer Diagnostics for its SEM Scanner, a new hand-held device for detecting early pressure ulcers. The product is based on technology developed at JPL, UCLA and the UCLA Wireless Health Institute. [
