UCLA Technology Key to Improving PTSD Patient Care
Developed by Drs. Pynoos and Steinberg at UCLA, the UCLA PTSD Reaction Index is a technology for assessing and scoring symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder in traumatized children and adolescents. Clinicians all over the world have adopted the PTSD Reaction Index for evaluation, case conceptualization, treatment planning, and monitoring of treatment outcome. [

Startup to Develop Devices for Paralysis Treatment
Using currents of electricity to jump-start injured spinal cords, UCLA's Reggie Edgerton and colleagues have given nearly a dozen paralyzed men the ability to move their own limbs, once again control their bladders and bowels, stand upright — and with assistance, take steps. NeuroRecovery Technologies, Inc. was formed to develop devices based on the lab's research. [

UCLA Engr. Launches Internet Research Incubator
The Undergraduate Internet Research Incubator (IRI) supports undergraduates at UCLA in pursuing revolutionary and unfettered interdisciplinary research on the Internet. In the inaugural 2016-2017 cycle, up to twelve students from across the campus will be selected to each receive individual $15,000 prizes. Prize winners will participate in an intellectual environment with fellow prize awardees, lab space, and mentoring with faculty and outside experts. [

2016 "Code for the Mission" Competition Announced
UCLA faculty, staff and students are invited to enter the third annual “Code for the Mission’ competition to develop mobile applications promoting UCLA’s mission of education, research and service. Winners will earn placement of their app in UCLA’s App Store and a $5,000 prize in each of this year's three categories: Promoting Women in STEM; mHealth; and Community Engagement. [
