A two-part exhibit, Sentimientos Filipinos and Traces of Sadness showcase the paintings and poetry of Mexican Ambassador to the Philippines Tomas Javier Calvillo Unna. The exhibit is the Ambassador's first solo show in Manila.

Born in Mexico City, Ambassador Calvillo studied International Relations at Colegio de Mexico, pursued his Masters in History at Univerisidad Iberoamericana, and completed his PhD in Social Sciences with a major in History at Universidad de Guadalajara and Centro de Investigacion en Anthropologia Social de Occidente. He founded and became president of El Colegio de San Luis, a public university specializing in the social sciences.

Traces of Sadness further showcases the creative pursuits of Ambassador Calvillo. Both exhibits feature more than 100 of his oil and acrylic paintings and 15 of his poems, all created during his stay in the Philippines.

Ambassador Calvillo has written numerous books of poetry and, in 2010, he published  Filipinas, Textos Cercanos. Currently, he has just finished and is soon to publish his latest work,  Tabing Dagat. Before becoming Ambassador, he also had a painting exhibit entitled  El Grafiti de la Oracion, which he presented in the Mexican cities of San Luis Potosi, Villa Hermana, and San Cristobal de las Casas.

To mark the 250th anniversary of the British Occupation of Manila, the Philippine Map Collectors Society (PHIMCOS) is presenting its second exhibit at Yuchengco Museum entitled British Occupation of Manila and Cavite 1762 - 1764.

Curated by Maria Isabel Ongpin and Jonathan Best, the exhibit features 18th century maps, prints, and rare books relating to the British Occupation. The exhibit also explores the circumstances, key players, and legacy of this little-known event in Philippine history.

Swiss Positions: 33 Takes on Sustainable Approaches to Building

Swiss Positions features photographs of 33 key Swiss sustainable construction projects over the past 20 years. What all these architectural works have in common, whether viewed from a technological, organic, vernacular, or social perspective, is that they interact with the setting in which they've been created.

Swiss Positions  is a traveling exhibition presented in Manila by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and the Swiss Embassy in celebration of 150 years of bilateral relations between Switzerland and the Philippines.

Japan Foundation, Manila is bringing to Manila one of Japan’s emerging designers for a one-day lecture on Japanese design, specifically on using modern product design principles in traditional Japanese crafts.

TAKAHASHI Hiroko is a fashion design graduate of Saitama Prefecture Niiza Comprehensive Technical High School. She studied dyeing at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, where she finished her masters in 2002. In 2003, she reenrolled for her doctorate, and worked as an artist at The Cité Internationale des Arts upon the invitation of the AFAA of the French Ministries of Foreign Affairs in 2005. After successfully holding two exhibitions in Paris, she returned to Japan in 2006 to establish her original brand, HIROCOLEDGE. In March 2008, Hiroko received her Doctorate in Fine Arts.
