:: What's New ::
On a personal note On Monday, while I was refreshing my rappelling skills with Lincoln in Minakami, my wife decided to have the baby in just under 90 minutes. So no chance for me to be back in time to see the miracle myself. Maximilian Spohn was born on February 8 (though due date was set for March 1) healthy 3320 grams at 15:12 JST. Mommy is well and still "enjoying" her time in the hospital with the little monkey boy.
Also found an ideal base on top of a hill, overlooking Minakami valley with a stunning waterfall across the street, which makes it the perfect spot to reside and run the business from. The five-story building used to be a hotel with rooms still intact. Accommodation for our adventure takers will most likely run at around 3,000 to 4,000 Yen per night. For now, things are coming together as intended for the grand opening on May 1, 2010. Follow our reports on YouTube.

:: Climb-up, Buckle-up & Seil-ab ::
Our new slogan In fact, if we do get this awesome place (hotel), you won't have to climb at all. Just walk straight to the waterfall, put on your harness, clip in your karabiner, and abseil down a spectacular scenery. Easy as 1 2 3.
If you're not into crowds and fancy a more relaxed atmosphere, now is a good time to arrange for your private Minakami trip. Contact us if you want to practice some rappelling skills ahead of the grand opening. Or relax a half day at Takaragawa hot spring, which was apparently rated as one of the ten-must-see attractions in Japan.
Now is the season of snow. So skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and backcountry tours are on your list of top choices. And for those who are not into strenuous activities, riding a snowmobile must be your thing. Check out Snowmobile Tours Japan if you love engine power.
