Why not take a break?
Reggae Snow Splash Abseiling is added to the list of outdoor sports to the rural areas of Minakami in Gunma.  For now, backcountry hiking, bungy jumping, canoeing, canyoning, caving, kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobile driving, and snowshoeing is offered through various outdoor operators.

Minakami, famous for hot spring embedded within a spectacular valley scenery, has proven to be one of the most relaxing getaways for busy people from Tokyo and Osaka.  You can reach Minakami in just under 2 hours from either hub, conveniently be driven by bullet train.

Outdoor adventure operations already established but not limited to bungyjapan.com, canyons.jp, evergreen-hakuba.com, ilovecanoe.jp, snowmobiletoursjapan.com, and tokyosnowclub.com are aiming at one goal.  The goal of making you return to your desk chilled on a Monday morning.  Some even claim that a single weekend in the wilderness, while enjoying one of the 13 more or less strenuous activities, is like returning from a short vacation to Hawaii ... story to be continued inside two major Tokyo-based English magazines during the next four weeks.
