Health Care Reform
It's Not Just About Health Care Anymore

The Democratic leadership in Congress has acknowledged that they are prepared to take extreme measures to circumvent any attempt by Republicans or Conservative Democrats to prevent passage of a Health Care Reform Bill that includes a Government Run Alternative to Private Insurers. That the majority of the Country doesn't want more Government Intervention and is rightfully concerned about the excessive spending and resultant debit goes unheard. It has become an issue of who is going to control our lives; Government or The Will of the People.   Click here to read the article.

You Can't Change Everything

Some once wrote  "You can't change everything you face, but nothing changes unless you face it".  Congress is at home for the month, but Health Care Reform is still on the front burner.  One of our brokers recently attended a "town hall" meeting sponsored by Congressman Gene Green.  Here is part of his email relating what occurred:

Boy did he get “Blasted” by the majority of those in attendance. There were fewer than a 100 people who attended and all but 2-3 flatly rejected any idea that a public health plan was wanted. They also were against the Cap and Trade Bill. Many of the seniors questioned the wisdom of more spending by Congress and worried that America was printing too much money and damaging our international credit worthiness. Naturally some seniors also worried about the survival of Medicare.

You can sit back and wait to see what happens or you can step up and face it. As someone who is concerned about their career, but more importantly an American concerned about the direction of their Country, you need to contact your elected representative and let them know where you stand.  Click Here for a list of contact information for this area.

Health Carriers are the Villains - But Their Money is Good

Nancy Pelosi, called health insurers "the villains" in the unfolding story of the health care overhaul on Thursday, ratcheting up an anti-insurer theme trotted out by President Obama earlier this month and encouraged by other Democratic leaders in Congress.  Click here to read the article.
