Policy Review Still Works

The average person in the U.S. will purchase five life insurance policies during their lifetime from three different agents.  If you fail to do periodic policy reviews with your clients their next purchase may not be with you.

Needs change; financial circumstances evolve and term policies renew.  In addition the performance of many of the interest sensitive, universal life and variable life policies issued over the last 10 years has been well below the projections used when the product was sold.

Your existing book of business is the best source of leads for future sales that you would ever want to have.  A simple client review program can generate consistent larger sales.

There's an old adage about selling life insurance: "Life insurance is never bought, it's always sold", and selling anything is rarely a one step process. People buy when they are ready to buy, not when you are ready to sell, so it's important to keep in touch with your potential clients to reinforce the value and importance of life insurance as it applies to their situation.  You can increase your sales by creating an effective follow up system, and to help you have a successful initial client interview, you can utilize our Life Check Up Form.  This form is not only for insurance review, but also extremely effective for first time clients.  It will help you map out and conduct a professional & comprehensive meeting with your clients. 

According to the National Sales Executive Association, you’ll increase your sales by 80% when you follow up! Here's why:

·        2% of sales are made on the 1st contact,
·         3% of sales are made on the 2nd contact,
·         5% of sales are made on the 3rd contact,
·         10% of sales are made on the 4th contact, and
·        80% of sales are made on the 5th-12th contact!


New Summer Hours

AMG will be adjusting our hours of operation for the summer season.  Beginning June 21st our offices will be open from 8:00 - 5:00 Monday thru Thursday.  Friday hours will be 8:00 - 1:00.


Health Care Reform

Golden Rule Announces Commission Change

Golden Rule - the individual health provider owned by United Healthcare has announced that commissions will be subject to change on business written starting July 2010.  What the change will be is yet to be determined.  Carriers are waiting for Health and Human Services to set the parameters for the ratio of health care versus administrative costs to reach the 80-20 ratio required by the new health care act.  This is only the first of what we anticipate will be the trend to reduce commissions as the carriers work to bring their administrative cost in line with this requirement.
