「NSFキャリア・ライフ・バランス・イニシアティブ」　

ホワイトハウスと米国国立科学財団(NSF)は９月26日、研究職に就く人が仕事と生活のバランスを保ちながら仕事を続けることを支援するための「NSFキャリア・ライフ・バランス・イニシアティブ」を発表しました。このイニシアティブにより、NSF助成金を受給している研究者が子供や親の世話などの家庭の事情で仕事をやめることなく研究を継続できるよう、助成金の受け取りを遅らせたり、一時休止することができます。NSFのイニシアティブにあわせ、ホワイトハウスや民間機関も科学・技術・工学・数学分野の女性研究者を育てるための支援プログラムなどを発表しました。
