ホワイトハウスは６月14日、ブロードバンド普及に関する報告書を発表しました。過去４年間から現在までの米国のブロードバンド普及の状況や、ブロードバンド技術を発展させるために、オバマ政権が４年間で成し遂げた重要な政策などについてまとめられ、タブレット端末やスマートフォンの普及についても書かれています。同日、オバマ大統領は覚書を発表し、混雑する電波を有効に利用するため関連省庁に新しい周波数帯割当についての政策を通達しました。またオバマ大統領は６月６日に、５年以内に全米生徒の99％が学校や図書館でブロードバンド接続を利用できるようにするConnectED計画を発表しています。
