6月はLGBT （レズビアン、ゲイ、バイセクシュアル、トランスジェンダー）月間として、同性愛者など性的マイノリティの権利を向上を目指す特別月間になっています。ホワイトハウスや国務省では、米国内に留まらず海外でのLGBT人権問題にも取り組んでいます。
