Japan's 3 Great Gardens
Dear

Welcome to the February 2020 edition of the Japan Agent Update.

Sakura forecasts are out and the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival is underway, running until 10 March 2020. Most of Japan will have to wait until mid to late March for blososms, but Kawazu-zakura can be enjoyed from early February, perfect for those who want to hit the slopes but also experience the famed cherry blossoms.

~Insider Tip~
#12: H
anami (cherry blossom-viewing)

By now the allure of Japan's famed sakura (cherry blossoms) is world renowned, and most people know that along with the sakura comes hanami - cherry blossom-viewing parties. Full articles have been dedicated to this on travel blogs all over, so for today's insider tip I'll just give you the basics:

Hanami can take place in daytime or at night, anywhere where there are sakura trees. Many people take a tarp to stake out a preferred spot in a park in the early morning; tampering with someone else's tarp, even unattended, is frowned upon. Stock up on your food and drinks (which can include beer and wine; drinking alcohol in public is perfectly legal in most parts of Japan) and hunker down to admire the beauty and chat the day (or evening) away.
