As the last of the autumn leaves fall, the landscape changes to a snowy wonderland throughout parts of Japan. From illuminations to onsen (hot springs), there is plenty to explore outside of the powdery snowfields.
Kinosaki Onsen in Hyogo Prefecture is a quaint onsen town with 1300 years of history. Seven unique public baths are located within walking distance of one another, and those up to the challenge can purchase a one-day access pass to experience them all. The best part is all the public onsen allow visitors with tattoos to enter, so no one has to miss out!
