The world has changed greatly in the past few months and it’s uncertain when we’ll all be allowed to travel again. However, we hope to continue to inspire those who can’t leave home for their Japan travels and maybe remind those that have been to Japan of happier times. We look forward to welcoming you to Japan when the time is right.

Shibazakura, not a type of sakura despite the name, bloom for a few weeks each year around mid-April to late May, covering the field around Mt. Fuji with a carpet of pink, white, and purple. The Shibazakura Festival in Yamanashi Prefecture is one of the most well-known places to view them, and with the Mt. Fuji Delicious Foods Festival held at the same time, offering a great opportunity to try some local dishes.

Hi ,

We are all staying home and unable to travel right now, but that doesn't mean you have to wait to explore or experience Japan. There are many ways to discover attractions throughout Japan virtually, and we’ve also compiled a host of ideas for how you can introduce some Japanese food, art and culture into your life. Stay home and stay safe; we hope this gives you some ideas for how to stay connected to Japan too!
