Risshakuji (Yamadera) is a mountaintop temple on Mt Hoju in Yamagata Prefecture. The temple is accessed by 1,000 stone steps that pass through a scenic cedar forest path, with a number of temple buildings, shrines and stone lanterns along the way.

Japanese airlines - Awards & updates

Two major Japanese airlines recently received numerous accolades, including the newly established COVID-19 Excellence Award, at the annual SKYTRAX World Airline Awards 2021. 
 
These awards are a testament to their superior services and commitment to ensuring the health and safety of their passengers. 
Both companies have also recently launched innovative new inflight meal options which will be available on their direct flights between Sydney and Tokyo.
All Nippon Airways (ANA) won awards for Cleanliness and Quality Services, Best Airport Services, Best Airline Staff in Asia and Best First Class Lounge in Asia. It also placed 3rd in the global Airline of the Year category.  

ANA has recently added 4 new healthy in-flight dining options in response to the diverse needs of its passengers. The expanded offerings include diabetic, low fat, low calorie and low salt meal options. 
Japan Airlines (JAL) was awarded the World’s Best Economy Class as well as Best Economy Class Airline Seat. The airline also moved up to 5th place, from 11th last year, in the Airline of the Year category. 

JAL has also recently launched a new set of menu offerings centred around the theme of ‘Inflight meals for the future’, and established with Sustainable Development Goals in mind.
