Golden Week refers to a string of four public holidays in Japan from 29th April to 5th May and adjacent weekends. As many offices close for about a week or more, it is one of the peak seasons for domestic travel. Expect trains, airports and tourist attractions to be more crowded than usual.

Hakuba Valley in the green season 

 

This popular ski resort has much to offer in the green season too. For clients travelling around early May, the 3-day long Salt Road Festival offers a fun insight into the history of the area, as well as an opportunity to experience the unique culture and traditions of the local farming communities. 

 

This luxurious hot-spring resort on Nakanoshima Island in Wakayama Prefecture is only accessible by private boat. It boasts open-air baths with breathtakingly beautiful panoramic views of the ocean and is ideal for clients looking for an indulgent experience amidst nature.

Yahatakan Sado Island

 

Yahatakan is one of the nine accommodations certified by Sakura Quality on Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture. Located in the central part of Sado, the environment-conscious hotel provides an ideal base for both sightseeing and business.

Capitol Hotel Tokyu

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu has been accepted to the APAC Virtuoso Regional Preferred Partner Program. Virtuoso agents can now offer clients special amenities at this property.
The second property of the new brand by Prince Hotels, has opened in Atami, Shizuoka. Prince Smart Inn connects guests with local society using ICT (information & communications technology).
Upcoming Openings
・Bulgari Hotels & Resorts will open Japan's first Bvlgari Hotel in Tokyo, scheduled for early 2023. 
 
Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort, Hilton's first property away from the main island of Okinawa, has begun construction. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2023.
 
Rosewood Miyakojima will be the first Japan property for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. The intimate, all-villa Okinawan retreat is scheduled to open in 2024.
 
・The first Four Seasons Hotel in Osaka is scheduled to open in 2024 as part of 'ONE DOJIMA PROJECT', a mixed condominium and hotel high-rise.
