Did You Know?
That St. Patrick was not born in Ireland and that he did his ecclesiastical studies in France?
Patrick was born in Great Britain, kidnapped to and enslaved in Ireland, and studied in the Monastery of Le'rins off the south east coast of France and later in Auxerre, France with Saint Germanius, a French bishop. Pope Celestine I later sent him to Ireland where he established 300 churches and was reputed to have chases all of the snakes out of Ireland.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
