Volume 1, Newsletter 1  April-2011
Hello,
This is the first e-news update for myhealthyherd member vets   helping you to to get the best from the myhealthyherd  program. The aim of these periodic emails is to provide you with top tips and guidance on the use of Myhealthyherd.
Have you registered all your vets and farmers with Myhealthyherd?
Free farmer uploading and registration
We can provide a service for you which makes registration of your clients with Myhealthyherd much easier. Many of our database member practices have used this. All you need to do is to contact us and we can work out the best solution for your practice. The benefits are obvious- your clients are linked to your practice and this allows you both to access the same farm record without risk of duplication or confusion. If you have not registered all your clients on Myhealthyherd and would like help please contact Caroline on caroline.jenkins@myhealthyherd.com or phone 07738064743
Quick Evaluator and Farm Assurance Health Planning
A quick evaluator has been added to the Dairy Health Evaluator to allow you to simply set targets and costs for the farmer. There is now a requirement for targets for culling, mastitis and fertility to be agreed with the vet prior to completing a health plan.  The quick evaluator is a shorter version of the full Dairy Evaluator and provides you with all the information you need to complete the Health Review
 NML,Operation Johne's and new Johne's Guidance Notes

NML have been running a Johne's Engagement program in conjuction with many of the key milk processors. This involves gathering risk data and subsidised 30 cow screens. Myhealthyherd is used as the tool to store the lab and risk data. If your farmers are already registered on the system and linked to your practice you will automatically access the data via the Johne's module. Any farmers that were not registered have been created for the purposes of the project but are not linked to their veterinary practice. NML are also paying for a time limited access to the Johne's module for participating farmers and vets allowing you to engage the farmers in biosecurity planning and control options for your farmers. Now is a good time to speak to your farmers about Johne's control. if you would like NML to link any of your clients to your Myhealthyherd account  which have participated in Operation Johnes  please contact Chris Spence at NML on chrisS@nml.co.uk.
