Myson has been chosen to provide the warmth for a new extension at a top County Durham care centre. Myson Floortec underfloor heating was installed throughout the ground floor of the extension, with Myson Premier radiators on the first floor. Myson’s Low Surface Temperature radiators were also used to provide safety-first warmth in the bathrooms. All of the heating products are being powered by renewable energy, harnessing the natural resources of both the sun and the ground.

Saving cash, reducing crime and helping the environment are in the pipeline in Doncaster, thanks to a new initiative from a housing organisation – with the help of Polypipe’s leading range of plastic plumbing systems. St. Leger Homes of Doncaster – the organisation that manages homes for Doncaster Council – is now installing Polypipe plastic pipe systems, rather than copper ones, when installing new heating installations. Andy Rowe, a business manager at St. Leger Homes, said: “It’s a win-win situation.”

SCOTSTOUN STADIUM ON TRACK WITH ALTRO

Safety flooring manufacturer Altro has supplied over 800m² of sports and safety flooring to Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow, as part of an £18million makeover to get the centre ready for the Commonwealth Games in 2014. The new 100m indoor track was fitted using Altro Mondoflex™ and Altro Sportsflex™ was installed in the strength and conditioning room. Altro Atlas™ 40 was specified for back of house areas including corridors and storage rooms.

Last week it was voted a winner at the annual Kent Environment Awards, hailed as a role model for other businesses after being named one of the county’s top green firms.
