INDUSTRY GIVEN OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON SKA RATING
RICS has opened a consultation on proposed revisions to the Ska Rating assessment system for sustainable office fit-out and refurbishment. The Ska Rating was launched in November 2009 and is widely used in industry to help occupiers and landlords achieve better environmental outcomes from existing and new buildings. RWE npower, RFIB, Liverpool Victoria and Paradigm Housing Group have all had projects certified under the scheme. Commenting, RICS Director of Strategic Business Development, Tim Robinson said: “RICS is committed to continuously improve Ska Rating by ensuring that good practice criteria and guidance are kept up to date. Each of the current 99 Good Practice Measures has been reviewed by the Ska Rating Technical Committee and a number of new measures have been added which are now available for industry comment." DOUBLE ‘SILVER’ CELEBRATION AT ELTA FANS

Two employees from the Fareham offices in Hampshire recently celebrated 25 years service with UK manufacturers, Elta Fans. Chris Lack and Neil Joliffe were both presented with commemorative gifts to mark the special occasions and to demonstrate the company’s gratitude for their loyalty, hard work and long service. Chris was appointed Technical Manager in 1985 and then Technical Director of Elta Fans in 1996. The company recognised Neil’s ambition and loyalty, along with his communication and ‘people’ skills.
