Hull City Council has redeveloped existing buildings to create the new Wilson Centre (named after the famous local shipping company), bringing more than 130 Council services under one roof. And to optimise accessibility for as many residents as possible, the Centre includes a ‘Changing Places’ toilet, supplied by Clos-o-Mat (Total Hygiene Ltd). THERMAL MOVEMENT CRACKING OVERCOME AT CHURCH EXTENSION

A large single storey extension at St John’s Church, Boxmoor, Hertfordshire, had extensive cracking on all elevations following thermal and moisture related shrinkage of the external ‘stone effect’ concrete blocks. To restore structural integrity the Helibeam System, from Helifix Ltd, was installed on all external walls. Stainless steel HeliBar were bonded into channelled-out mortar beds, drilled behind the buttresses, bent around corners and returned into the reveals where possible, to provide a rapid cost-effective solution.
