CAPITAL GROWTH TARGETED AS LONDON SIGNS UP TO LOCAL ENTERPRISE NETWORK
A new local enterprise partnership to lead local growth for London's firms was today given the green light by Decentralisation Minister, Greg Clark and Minister for Business, Mark Prisk. The London Mayor and a leading business person will co-chair the city's new local enterprise Board, which will bring together the capital's political and business leaders, local boroughs and universities with the aim of making London the world capital of business. There are now 31 local enterprise partnerships across the country since the Government's Local Growth White Paper was published in October last year. Local enterprise partnerships now cover over 87 per cent of the population, 1.8 million businesses and 20 million employees. More   Website

HUNTER DOUGLAS SUN CONTROL SELECTED FOR LIDL STORES
Supermarket chain Lidl has selected Hunter Douglas as its preferred supplier of sun control as part of its store refurbishment and expansion programme.  Hunter Douglas Sun Control and Façades has to date been asked to supply materials to six of Lidl’s expanding store network in the UK and Ireland, with more expected. The firm is supplying its 132S Sun Louvre panel systems, consisting of 132mm Z-shaped roll formed aluminium panels within an elegant support structure. More   Website

BRINTONS CARPET HELPS FOX TO SNARE TOP AWARD
The impact made by a stunning Art Deco carpet that was designed and manufactured by Kidderminster-based Brintons carpets has helped one of the company’s customers to win a prestigious international award. Brintons was commissioned to supply more than 2,500 sq metres of Art Deco-themed Axminster carpet to the restoration of the Fox Theater in Spokane, Washington, USA. Brintons’ design team used original photography from 1931 as inspiration for the development of a brand-new Art Deco carpet design. More   Website

STANNAH SCENIC LIFT BRIDGES THE GAP AT CARDIFF CENTRAL STATION
Stannah have completed the challenging installation of a scenic Passenger lift within in the Art Deco ticket hall of Cardiff Central Station. Stannah were the Principal Contractor on a 4-month project to install a lift for Arriva Trains Wales and Network Rail to ensure easy access to Platform Zero. The two-stop, through-door glass passenger lift in a structure supported glass shaft stands in the west side of the magnificent Grade 2 listed ticket hall. More   Website
